The Merriam School of Music philosophy of Music for Life does not stop at a music lesson. We support musical arts development within the local community and province through scholarships, sponsorships, music teaching research and instrument donations.

What does Merriam support?

Some of the beneficiaries of The Merriam School of Music’s support are:

  • Dixon Hall (a music school that provides music lessons to underprivileged children) through scholarships
  • University of Ottawa pedagogical research laboratory with research funding
  • Wellspring (education and support centres for cancer patients and their families) through an instrument donation
  • Wilfrid Laurier University – scholarships
  • Numerous community athletic teams through sponsorships
